Crossfit Injuries

Crossfit is a sport that requires very specific body mechanics in order to perform in the correct ways. When someone participates in Crossfit Injuries without knowing the proper body mechanics for doing so, it puts an increased amount of strain on the joints, muscles, and other parts of the body that must compensate for the incorrect movements.

That’s why at Iberia Sports and Rehabilitation, we are committed to providing the proper training for crossfit athletes to help prevent future injuries and enhance sports performance.

Physical therapy can teach the proper techniques for performing Crossfit, so you can ease the stress on your body and enhance your abilities. Request an appointment with one of our crossfit trainers today!

Treating and Preventing Crossfit Injuries

At Iberia Sports and Rehabilitation, we know how important Crossfit is for many of our patients. We see several Crossfit-related injuries come through our doors and we work hard to make sure that each patient receives the quality care they need so they can return to the sport they love.

However, our clinic not only recognizes quick and effective ways to treat such injuries, but also helpful tips and techniques for preventing them from occurring in the first place. Through a combination of manual, hands-on modalities and patient education on strength and movement, we can make sure you are performing at your optimum levels of physical ability.

Taking preventative measures:

As any athlete may know, nothing is worse than having to put your training on hold due to an unexpected injury. That’s why physical therapy for prevention is so important – your physical therapist can help you fix problem areas before they become an issue.

Your physical therapist will be able to assess your movements during the sport and identify any improper techniques. This will help in anticipating injuries before they occur and providing solutions for avoiding them.

When participating in physical therapy for preventative measures, many of your treatment plans will be focused on strength and endurance training, so you can make sure any areas of concern are as strong as possible. It will also focus on form and technique, so you can get to the root of any potential issues and fix them before they get worse.

What if I still get injured?

Of course, we understand that there may still be fluke injuries, even if preventative measures are taken. If you still find yourself in any sort of pain or discomfort related to your Crossfit workouts, don’t hesitate to contact Iberia Sports and Rehabilitation as soon as possible. Starting treatments soon is crucial toward recovering as fast as you can, so you can get back in the game.

If you develop an injury, your physical therapist will examine the root cause of the pain and design a treatment plan based on your specific needs. The end goal of these treatment plans will be full recovery and a decreased risk of sustaining a further injury, so you can enjoy your sport without hesitation.

Ready to get started?

If you are a Crossfit athlete and you are looking to treat your injury and/or prevent your risk of sustaining on, request an appointment at  Iberia Sports and Rehabilitation today! We’ll help get you back in the gym in no time.
